CAROLINE LENTUPURU 

Ilchamus Community Advisor

Caroline was born in Baringo County and Kailer is her home-by-marriage. She is the Treasurer of the Ilchamus Community Development Organization. In 2022, she was appointed by the President of Kenya to serve as the Commissioner for the National Gender & Equality Commission.  Previously, she was the Director of Governance Affairs at the Intergovernmental Relations Technical Committee in Nairobi.

Caroline was the first Ilchamus woman to attend university and as such serves as a mentor for many young Kenyan girls. She received a Ford Foundation scholarship to attend Clark University in Boston where she attained a Master’s degree in International Development and Social Change.  She is currently pursuing a PhD in Leadership.
